Watercolor Trilogy Reflection (1-D): Jan. 24, 2013
1. I did a good job with having rhythm, because there is violet in all of my paintings.
2. I think that I could have done a better job with controlling the background color, because in some places it looks a little sloppy.
3. The theme of my past painting is Winnie the Pooh, because he represents my mom who died when I was little. The theme of my present painting is a dream catcher which represents my grandma whom I am very close with right now. The theme to my future painting is the world, because I want to travel when I get older.
4. The color violet repeats in all of my paintings, because that is my favorite color.
5. I like using watercolors for a soft-colored painting, but I prefer bold colors which is a lot harder to do with watercolors.
6. I learned that to do something really well you need to take your time and take extra time to make it great.
7. For my paintings I first painted the background and then I painted the details. I used wet-on-wet for the backgrounds and dry brush for the details. I based my paintings on my prelimenary designs.
8. Yes, I think it was a good project, but I think we should have been shown some techniques in using watercolors before we started.
